Do you want to:

…use social media effectively for change?…understand the latest updates on climate science?…know how to engage with the traditional media?…know how to be a compelling communicator and to have your voice heard?…how to push your government to take stronger climate action?

If the answer is yes, you should join our ‘Climate Tracker – Expert Skills Training’! Over the next two months, we’re sharing the skills that some of the best in the climate movement use to tracking their countries’ climate positions and to push their governments to take stronger climate action.

Our training is organized into four skill sets, each topic presented in 2-week modules, we will dig into: social media for change; understanding and effectively communicating climate science; strategies for engaging mainstream media; and climate advocacy at an international level.

  • an introduction to emphasize key lessons and best practices,
  • some essential resources to deepen your knowledge and sharpen your skills,
  • interactive events with movement leaders (webinars, twitterchats, etc)
  • guest posts focused on key aspects of the skill set.

We will never ask you to be online at a particular time. You can choose freely to join the events that suit to your schedule and interest, and catch up later with some of the others.

2 – You will benefit from the experience, expertise and examples from a diverse range of experts on each of the topics.

We are identifying key members within our broad movement who will share their inputs and skills for each of the four themes. For every skill set of the training, we will organize a webinar, a twitter chat, and host guest posts to give you access to their insights and secrets and to help you stand on the shoulders of giants. We also want all the participants to contribute in sharing more useful resources to ensure a great diversity of methods are covered in the skill sets.

3 – You will find resources useful to address YOUR needs!

We are working hard to make sure that we can provide for every theme a diverse set of resources, addressing the needs both of those who are unfamiliar with the theme of the skill set as well as for those with more experience. We will rate the level of access of each of the resources so that you can find what is the most helpful for you.

4 – You don’t have to pay anything.

It’s free!

5 – You can use the skills as you wish.

The training will empower you to become a more effective communicator/advocate, no matter what theme you are working on. It will be particularly helpful for those interested in tracking the climate (in)actions of their governments and pushing for more ambitious agenda, but you can use the same approach to any particular policy issue.

6 – We have a planet to save and no time to loose!

While decision makers have repeatedly committed to take climate action, the policies in place in most countries remain outrageously inadequate. It’s time to held politicians and other economic leaders accountable. The training builds on the best practices and lessons accumulated over the past five years of experience of the adopt-a-negotiator project.

Join us today, participate actively during the coming two months, and help us unlock climate solutions nationally and internationally.
